BIOGRAPHY

Yugoslavian-born, post-war artist Nina Ivana Alexsander-Ristic was a contemporary of Lionel Abrams, Bill Ainslie, Walter Battiss, Guiseppe Cattaneo, Sydney Kumalo and Cecil Skotnes, among others, and participated in group exhibitions with these artists, including one held at the Queens Hall Art Gallery in downtown Johannesburg in 1960. Her work is represented in the Schlesinger South African Art Collection, now housed in the archives at the University of the Witwatersrand.
