Hennie GRIESEL (1931 – 2015)
BIOGRAPHY
Hennie Griesel was a self-taught artist who never attended a single art class and had no art tuition of any kind. He had a love for art as a young boy growing up in the Tzaneen district, and he started painting. He earned a living as a roadworker driving bull dozers.
Griesel’s most popular work include still lifes of copper and flowers, especially cosmos and sunflowers. His paintings of landscapes, animal studies and architecture can be seen in houses and offices in over Taiwan, the United States, Israel and France.
