BEATRIX BOSCH (b. 1935)
BIOGRAPHY
Beatrix Bosch was born in the small rural town of Hertzogville in the Free State. She graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1955 and went on to study pottery and weaving at the Johannesburg School of Art from 1965 to 1966.
Bosch pioneered leather art in South Africa, creating mainly abstract wall hangings in various kinds of leather. She received commissions for corporate buildings and hundreds of private homes around the world.
She has had 34 solo exhibitions in places including South Africa, the United States and Switzerland, and has participated in numerous group shows.
