KENNETH GODFREY
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Scotland of Indian heritage, Kenneth Godfrey trained in Fine Art and Industrial Design.
He studied at Manchester Metropolitan University (1977–1980) and the University of Durban-Westville (1973–1975).
He was a lecturer at Technikon Natal (1990–1994) and a Senior Lecturer at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (1995–1999).
Godfrey is based in Andalucía, Spain. Working from his studio overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar in the Spanish mountain town of Casares, Godfrey produces work that emanates from his varied experiences of India, Britain, South Africa and Spain. He also offers art classes to people of all ages. Godfrey’s gallery, Estudio 58, is situated in the middle of the town, right on the plaza.
A painting by Godfrey of the village of Casares has been given pride of place in the town hall, to be admired by the many visitors and neighbours of the village.
Godfrey has exhibited in galleries worldwide and is represented in private collections in South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Holland and Spain.
